Parents are often shocked when told that among
children under 12; one out of four girls and one
out of ten boys (probably higher) have had a sexual
encounter. Most parents think of sex abuse as
molesting or rape, but actually it can include
flashers, obscene phone calls, porno on the net
or touches that confuse the child. Most incidences
of potential abuse are not about a child’s
life, health, virginity or innocence, but rather
his/her dignity, trust and security.
